ISSSresearch&architecture  – Independent Structure for Sustainable Space research – is the cooperative practice of the architects Ingrid Sabatier-Schwarz (graduate from ENSAM Marseille, member of Ordre des Architectes Rhones-Alpes, France) and Stephan Schwarz (graduate from TU Graz, member of Architektenkammer Berlin, Germany).
The research of ISSS is dealing with architecture, contemporary urban dynamics and the role and power of people’s engagement within the production of their urban space. Permanently linking research and the practice on the ground ISSS key competences are architecture and urbanism as well as participatory design processes in order to develop research-based, holistic concepts and sustainable spatial solutions at all scales.
